#febphotoaday

I have always keenly watched other photographers and friends, who have undertaken ‘photo-a-day’ challenges. 365 projects, 52 projects, and everything in between. I have never been game enough, for fear of failing. The workload of getting the DSLR out everyday, shooting, editing & posting is something I cannot fathom adding to my already hectic life. Not a commitment I am prepared to make.

Enter the iPhone. As you have probably read by now, I have become a bit of an iPhonography (yes, it is a term, look it up) nut. Everything from instagram, diptic, snapseed, camera+ and everything in between.

So…I have signed on for a photo a day challenge in Instagram, for the shortest month of the year! FEBUARY!!

And here are my first weeks shots:)

Beach + Sunset

Over the Australia Day long weekend, the family headed down the coast. One evening Mark and I slipped away and spent the evening exploring the local beach.

Sunset strolling hand in hand:)well not quite hand in hand, Camera bags, tripods and lens changes, maybe not as romantic as it sounds, but still a great way to spend the evening.

Remembering the small things

A few years ago, I stopped taking ‘snapshots’ of life, as I was so absorbed in my DSLR camera, nothing else compared. I know i have missed some important moments in mine and my families life.

Over the past 12 months or so, I have found myself snapping away again, on my iPhone!! Though I found that often these photos ended up, nowhere. just living on my phone, never being downloaded, never being seen.

Time to change this.

enter instagram and tumblr. I have found a new passion within my photography, those daily shots I take, of my kids, my life, the scenery around me, all on my iPhone, now live and breathe. They live in a personal space, somewhere outside of here. This space is for my ‘good photography’.

So I have created a simple site, to keep these precious memories, snapshots of my life, in a diary-type format. And I am loving it! And most of all, my family loves it. There is a link on the left or click below.
